Boyi Sarki is a community in Niger State. The community depends on open hand-dug wells and a pond for their water needs.
The water scarcity in the community has increased to an alarming level since their hand pumps became non-functional, and alternate water sources remain a significant health concern due to exposure to surface runoffs. The community health center is filled with patients reportedly suffering from waterborne diseases.
During our visit, we repaired a hand pump and rehabilitated one hand pump.
The repair and the rehab done through our intervention will, in the long run, reduce the community’s dependence on dirty and unsafe water.
The community remains grateful for the demonstration of love and support from Lifewater Canada.
