Kofa is a community in Niger State with a biting water crisis.
Before our intervention, the community depended on a river, unprotected wells, and rainwater harvesting. The lack of safe water has precipitated a dangerous health threat in the community, increasing the risk of water-borne diseases such as cholera. Many children miss school because they must wake up early in search of water. The dry season when rain is not falling; is a period of anguish for the residents as the unprotected wells must have dried up.
The community hand pump has been in disrepair for many months. With the rehab of the hand pump, safe water is now available for thousands of residents of the Kofa Community.
The community is indeed grateful for the donation and prays for the increase and prosperity of Lifewater Canada.
