Rising populations and less predictable rainfall mean the Pai community does not have viable water sources.

Water scarcity is playing a role in exacerbating the crisis between                  Christians and Muslims in the Pai community and has undermined livelihoods and social cohesion within households.

Women and children are the most affected. It is an issue of survival because water is life. Without water, it is difficult for people to thrive and live wholesomely.

Before our intervention, Women woke at 4:00 am in search of water from a distant river. Most of them will not return until mid-day.

During our visit, we rehabilitated five hand pumps in the community. It is our earnest desire that these donations having restored safe water will equally restore peace and social cohesion in the community.
