N23-W048 Toba Ijah Gbagyi Community

Toba Ijah Gbagyi is a densely populated area with a severe water crisis. Residents depended on distant neighbours with hand pump and other unsafe water sources. Often, women and children fight each other over water from the hand pump.  

The large number of people waiting to fetch water from the hand pump means it is insufficient for the community and has led to the loss of productive time for women and children.  

During our visit, we drilled a well and installed the hand pump in the Ijah Gbagyi community to ease the pressure on the existing hand pump and bring safe water closer to the people.
