Alhaji Yusuf from Angwan Kitikpa narrated the water scarcity the people have been facing for many years. He said, “We go through a lot of hardship in getting water, we had to trek about 4kilometers before we can get water, yet most times the water will not be enough for everyone, which causes people to fight over the water.” 

For many in Angwan Kitikpa, the suffering has been quite unbearable as it disproportionately affects women’s productive time and the residents’ interpersonal relationships.  

But today, with the drilling of a well, the water crisis is over. The donation has relieved the women of the burden of fetching water from long distances and increased their productive time.
