The Dawaki Gbintipi Gawu community has been in severe water scarcity.

It usually takes about three to four months for the residents to contribute money to repair their hand pump each time it breaks down. We met the hand pump abandoned because the residents are impoverished and can not afford the cost of repairs.

Alternatively, the community depended on a hand-dug well and a pond.

With the replacement of their hand pump, safe water is now available at no cost in the community.
