Angwan Bello community in the Akwanga district of Nasarawa State. The community has severe water scarcity.
Before our intervention, the community depended on a distant river, trekking about eight kilometers to fetch 25 litres of water. Sometimes, the women and children walk to the river about 4 to five times daily. With the water crisis worsening during the dry season, a significant time for school and other productive activities was on the road to the river.
With the two new wells drilled for the community, children now have time for school. Equally, women can now devote more time to productive activities.
The community appreciates Lifewater Canada for the love shown to them.
