N23-R016 Sullu

Sullu is in Suleja district of Niger State. The community has endured water scarcity for many months. The community hand pumps have been non-functional for many months. Alternatively, the community depends on river water which has led to rampant and frequent cases of diarrhea.

Josiah Ishaku is from the community. He recounts the state of helplessness of the residents, “We have gotten used to it. Sometimes we boil the water for our children, but the adults in the community are used to the dirty water.”

During our visit, we repaired one hand pump and rehabilitated two hand pumps in the community. Safe water is now available for the Sullu community. The community appreciates the love shown and prays for God’s continued blessings.
