For women and girls in the Angwan Karo community, time and energy spent collecting water from distant rivers mean time and energy not invested in earning an income, starting a business, or going to school.
The problem of water scarcity had gone unabated for many years and worsened when the community hand pump broke down.
Since then, residents began to drink unsafe water as they could not afford the cost of replacing the broken hand pump.
With the rehab, safe water is back in the community. The community thanked Lifewater Canada for the donation and prayed for the divine protection of the team.
