The Diko traditional council appreciates Lifewater Canada and the donors for their kind Intervention and provision of a new well in the Government Secondary School, Diko. The government school have long been abandoned and deprived of basic facilities due to the underfunding of education in Nigeria. The lack of water in the school is a humanitarian problem for the school children, who regularly get infected with bacteria because of a lack of hygiene and sanitation as there is no water to wash their hands after toilet use. Some children stay dehydrated for a whole day because there is no water to drink. The new well is an immense donation that will encourage more children to enroll in school. Children can now stay safe in school and an environment devoid of pain and fear of contracting diseases.
