Boyi Madaki is a community in the Suleja area of Niger State that was experiencing a severe water crisis. There were local wells but due to a large population, the wells were in almost constant use and the hand-powered pumps on them kept breaking down. This would force residents to drink unsafe water from a a nearby river and some shallow streams.
The community asked Lifewater for an additional well to reduce the pressure on the existing hand pumps. During our visit, we drilled a well and eased people’s dependence on unsafe water. Residents were excited and prayed for blessings for Lifewater’s donors.
