N23-W045 Esu Boknu Kwaka Community

The Esu Boknu Kwaka community has, in the absence of water, put up with drinking water polluted by domestic animals. Polluted water has been a significant source of disease infection in the community, affecting the young and old.  

Despite being unsafe, women and children wake up early and return home from the stream tired because the stream is distant.  

Sule Yakubu, a young man from the community, who was around to receive the Lifewater Nigeria team, was delighted and excited about the intervention. He says, “We appreciate Lifewater Canada for drilling on well and replacing three handpumps in our community. May God Almighty, that choose you to wipe our tears, bless you all.”
