Kopati Gawu is a Community that shares its water source with domestic animals. Most times, domestic animals defecate in the river, yet the people still draw water from it because they lack access to safe water.
The community river has been a significant point of infection and disease transmission, leading to study interruption and many children’s deaths.
The community spokesperson was in high spirits during this project. He says, “We pray that God will enable you to extend more hands to other communities like us. Because you have saved us from sickness and hospital expenses.”
The intervention of Lifewater Canada is a much-needed relief as the community continues to grapple with unprecedented health and economic crisis.
