The Azhi Kasa community has encountered challenges from drinking from the river as the river is a source for humans and animals. In addition, animals defecate in the river, making it unsafe for use.
After drinking the water, people experience stomach aches, diarrhea, and skin infections, as it is not every family that can afford to purify the water.
Children are the worst hit; their weak immune system makes them susceptible to waterborne infections and diseases.
During our visit, we drilled a well for them to ease their dependency on unsafe water. The community appreciated Lifewater Canada’s support and prayed that God would honor the donors.
